Geometry Dash
Rhythmic games are those where you need to do whatever the developers suggest you to do – the main criteria here is to do it according to the beat. These are very popular among users, because it makes people get involved and captivated by the gameplay, which makes the ratings grow, and a release becomes very popular. Geometry Dash is one of such releases. But what did make it so desirable, and what turns did it have on its way to popularity?
A little bit of history
The game was initially created by Robert Topala. He made the gameplay as a number of platformer episodes. The first peculiarity is the music which was unique for each of 21 levels, the product had a potential for diversity. But further there appeared an opportunity to add different music while creating custom levels. First it was the music taken from the Newgrounds site, but the players who always want more, started to demand from the bands who create the tracks to allow them to use all of their creative works for making the levels in the game. Because of all disputes arising from this question Geometry Dash was not available for some time to play, but when everything was regulated it was brought back to the open access.
The gameplay
Geometry Dash games were initially created for mobile devices, but a little bit later there appeared a full version for PCs. It is composed of 21 lvls in general, of which eighteen are available from the very beginning, and all the others a player should open by collecting special items. The character which is moving through the levels can have different skins, and that influences the process of playthrough a lot, as the manner of jumping changes. And as the game is an obstacle line, in fact, a gamer needs to make the choice quite fast if he wants to succeed. The deal gets complicated as there’s no additional lives or savings.
